Find the original paper

A press release is a useful pointer, but future research coverage here would link to the original publication wherever possible. We would record the authors, publication date, journal, and the source of any quoted interpretation.

Match the conclusion to the method

Our reporting checklist asks what the researchers measured, how they measured it, and which questions the design could answer. We would explain the distinction between the authors' conclusions and the headline we write.

No study results are presented in this sample article. PubMed is linked as a research-discovery resource, not as an endorsement of a claim.

Keep the caveats readable

Limitations should be part of the narrative. A future story would explain them in the main text and identify unanswered questions, rather than asking readers to infer them from a reference list.
